U Mobile Launches WeChat Branded Prepaid Sim

Tourism Ministry estimates a total a total of 8 million Chinese tourist arrival by 2020, going by the fact that Malaysia is now high on the list of preferred destination for mainland visitors, local retailers and company’s are delighted to make their arrival as pleasant as possible. Adopting mobile payment format as their choice, China is ahead of the curve and the top two providers WeChat and Alipay have already set base here. Taking the efforts further U Mobile is now offering a special custom U Mobile WeChat Go Sim for these visitors.

The telco company is welcoming a new arrival into its family of prepaid solutions in partnership with WeChat and launched WeChat Go prepaid Sim that will provide Chinese tourists unlimited data for social messaging on the WeChat app and free Lingcod TV subscription which offers over 100,000 hours of high-definition movies, documentaries, and educational content out of China.

Regarded as the only cobranded prepaid SIM in the country, the pack will be added with services including 1GB of free roaming data for Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia and 60 minutes’ worth of IDD calls to China or calls made in Malaysia.

U Mobile WeChat Go SIM will be available from 6th  December 2017, and Chinese tourists may opt to purchase the prepaid SIM pack from Sunway Media retailers in China prior to travelling. The SIM card will also be available at 138 U Mobile outlets in Malaysia as well as the various international airports in the country such as KLIA and KLIA 2.
