Uber Now Available In More Cities Than GrabCar

The battle for occupation of cities, seems to be the strategy for the two ride sharing giants in the country, after all this is important for consumers who use these services and expect them to be available wherever to go. The more cities they are available, the more convenient it will be for the customers.

In this aspect, Uber has just overtaken Grab with their recent expansion of their services to Langkawi, Alor Setar and Miri which takes the total to 9 which is about three more than local unicorn Grab. Who themselves just reach a new milestone not long ago to a total of nine cities. The battle for cities and customers will continue between these two, evident in recent price war as these start-ups continue to expand their presence in the region. Consumers tend to benefit during these period, which of course we can’t complain.

Leading to this bit of news: Celebrating their 3rd anniversary, Uber will be giving special discounts of 33% to rides in all cities from now till 27th March as a gesture of appreciation to users of the service. Marking the milestone, the ride sharing provider is also the first to offer the service in East Malaysia, an untapped region that we wonder why local players have yet to venture.
