Often regarded as a disruptor, and a title the telco is proud to embrace, U Mobile can be credited in untangling the strangle hold Maxis, Celcom and Digi had on the telecommunication industry. Its with the unorthodox approach in pricing data plans and bringing the packages substantially low was what made this operator a champion among its users. So when the orange brand makes announcement on new plans, product launch or package offering the rest of the industry starts sweating, as it is a known fact that it will be something unconventional.

With mobile internet plans already at its most affordable, U Mobile has sent out invitation to the media for what the operator calls the “last launch of the year”. Tag-lining “Discover the world with no limitations” the invite depicts a flying plane above the clouds with the copy “When you have unlimited potential on your side” listed below. We can only speculate that this will be another unlimited offering, possibly for international roaming. Consumers pay quite a bit for international roaming with most opting to purchase foreign sim cards which works out to be less costlier. If it is unlimited roaming than this will be a real game changer in the mobile connectivity space and another disruption will be eminent.

However, we will have to wait till December 5 before the official details are unveiled, incidentally the telco has picked a very large stadium to make the announcement which must only mean…it must be big!
