Twitter Has a New Look

Twitter refreshed their brand and rolled out some changes across all platforms, including on TweetDeck and Twitter Lite.

In the new design, profile, additional accounts, settings, and privacy are all in one place. There is a new side navigation menu and fewer tabs at the bottom of the app for less clutter and easier browsing. This has been reflected earlier on Android and will be rolling out on iOS as well.

For iOS, links to articles and websites now open in Safari’s viewer in the Twitter app so users can easily access accounts on websites they’ve signed into.

Design wise there is a more consistent typography, with bolder headlines to make it easier to focus on what’s happening. Profile photos are now rounded as well. There are also changes in iconography, for example make the reply arrow a speech bubble.

Reply, retweet and like counts are now refreshed instantly on mobile apps so changes will be reflected immediately.
