Huawei is releasing their latest device, the Huawei Nova 7i in Malaysia on 14th February 2020. This will make Malaysia the first country other than China to carry the device. As the Nova series has been, the 7i follows in the footsteps of its predecessors with a focus on camera functionality. The selfie camera comes with a video mode that has added features like stickers, filters, effects,and more. Which to me, isn’t all too exciting if that’s what they’re promoting first.

But they’re also introducing MeeTime.

The Huawei Nova 7i will be the first Huawei device to have the feature, and it’s basically a built-in video call feature, similar to Apple’s FaceTime. This I think is a bit more significant as it indicates a smartphone manufacturer moving into their own built in software. But then again, Huawei kind of has to because of the whole Google debacle, don’t they?

Anyway, the Nova 7i is equipped with a 6.”LTPS IPS LCD screen with a 83.5% scree-to-body ratio and 1080 x 2310 pixels. Internally, it comes with a brand-new process, the octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 810 processor, 8GB RAM and 128GB internal memory with a nano memory card slot up to 256GB. In terms of battery power, it has a 4200mAh battery and is capable of 40W Supercharge which they claim can charge 70% battery within 30 minutes of charging.

At its rear, the 48MP quad camera includes a dedicated ultrawide feature and a macro feature. The Huawei
Nova 7i comes with 26mm (wide) F/1.8 rear camera and HDR which allows the camera to take in more light,
making photos and videos look better in low light settings.

No details on the price as of yet, but the phone will be releasing on 14 February, and the price is set to be announced once the details for their roadshow is ready.

Oh and if you were curious, still no Google. Well, probably.
