You’ll Never Guess Who the HONOR 8C Ambassador Is

Honor has launched their latest entry into the mid-range smartphone market, the 8C, at an event in KL today. The 8C is actually the entry level version of the higher spec 8X which launched last year. At RM599, the phone is great for consumers who were interested in getting the 8X but find that it’s price is over your budget.

The phone features a 6.26″ notch FullView display with a 88.6% screen to body ratio. You can even disable the notch via the phone settings, which i’m sure will please most people. In terms of design, the device comes with a curved body and is just 7.98 mm thick, making it easy to grasp with just one hand. One of the aesthetic features that catches the eye is the cat eye effect on the back, which gives out a cool gem-like glow.

For taking pictures, the camera on the 8C punches well above its weight in the form of a dual-lens 13MP+2MP rear camera with a large F/1.8 aperture lens, allowing for high definition photos. Its AI technology, which was once only available on flagship smartphones, allows for professional photos regardless of your skills with a camera.

Under the hood, you have a 4000mAh battery, snapdragon 632 chipset, 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM with expandable storage supporting up to 256GB! It runs on EMUI 8.2 and also supports dual-SIM with dual VoLTE, which is rare in phones at this price point.

Priced at a mere RM599, the phone is retailing for cheaper than the Samsung M20 that I previously compared it to and by the looks of it, I might just have to eat my words. Also, their mystery ambassador was a cat. I can’t even..

The Honor 8C will be available for pre-order tomorrow on Lazada in two different colours, Blue and black, and will go on sale in stores on the 5th of April along with the third colour, Gold.
