Straight forward, goal oriented
The application that syncs with the Shine 2 is easy to use, with easy to set goals. It syncs with Bluetooth but doesn’t require your phone’s Bluetooth to be on all the time. Just sync it after a full day and all your progress will be reflected on the app. The app comes with graphs and fun short messages, making it easy to see your activity and progress, as well as feel good with motivational messages.
Simple, low maintenance
Unlike other fitness trackers and smartwatches, the Misfit Shine 2 doesn’t require any recharging. The replaceable battery lasts for 6 months so you can put it on and forget about it for months before needing to replace the batteries. The Shine 2 is also waterproof – so you can easily track your swim, as well as wear it in the shower no problem! If you’re like me, you can pop the tracker on and not worry about forgetting to take it off and ruining it.
Buzz buzz
The tracker buzzes and acts as a notification when connected to your phone. It will buzz and flash LED when you receive a text message or a phone call. You can also set the time for the alarm, and the tracker will wake you up gently with buzzes. With a separate app, you can use the tracker as a smart button to control music, take selfie or control you home devices.
Lights up
LED lights show the current time with green and blue blinking lights, as well as your progress for the day with red lights.
Basic tracker
It tracks basic information about sleep, calories burned, activity level, steps taken etc. very well. However, a slight bit lacking, it doesn’t come with a heart monitor.
Clock face
Take care to make sure you’re looking at the circle right way up, or risk making a fool of yourself wondering why the time display was faulty. Yes I feel stupid.

Verdict: A really good, simple tracker that does all the basics. Could’ve done with a heart monitor, but overall love the simplicity. Best of all, the long battery life and being waterproof.
