Spotify, Reddit, New York Times and Other Huge Websites Victims of Cyber Attack

A few hours ago, loads of popular websites were taken down in a wave of major cyber attacks. These distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks were targetted at Dyn, a US-based DNS provider. The websites that were affected include not only Spotify, Reddit, and the New York Times but SoundCloud, Shopify and Twitter as well. Box, Boston Globe, Github, Airbnb, Freshbooks, Heroku, and Vox Media are also experiencing issues.

Though service and access to these websites have been restored in many parts of the US, parts of Europe are still having trouble. Asian internet users seem largely unaffected.
