The day that civilians finally head out into the final frontier is almost upon us! The cosmos is there for the taking, and we sure are making the most of it. Elon Musk’s SpaceX, which is set to take its first passengers up into space sometime later this year or early next year has launched a ridesharing version of its flights into space catered for those who are rich, but not exactly rich enough to book a full rocket (which costs around $60mil USD btw). 

The rideshare version of the flight will start at $1 million USD (remember, this is their version of budget) and will guarantee you a spot on the SpaceX rocket along with a maximum payload of 200 kg. You also have the option of choosing your desired orbit: Sun-synchronous, low Earth or polar. We’re not too sure which one will give you the best views and all, but when we tried booking (because budget options are us), low earth takes off in July 2020 at the earliest while Sun-synchronous starts it’s flights in December.

Once you’ve selected all your options for add-ons and what not, you will then be prompted to confirm you are not subject to any actions or International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) restrictions imposed by the U.S. government. Because you can’t be an arms dealer in space, what is this.. Star Wars?! Pshft. Once you’ve confirmed all this, you’ll be asked to deposit $5000 USD and make the payment for the flight in three installments and you’re good to go.
