Sony Malaysia has launched its 98” BRAVIA 5 television, bringing home cinema experiences closer to reality with calibrated viewing modes and immersive audio technologies.
At the core of the new BRAVIA line-up is a commitment to reflect the filmmaker’s original vision through calibrated modes including Netflix Adaptive Calibrated Mode, SONY PICTURES CORE Calibrated Mode, and Prime Video Calibrated Mode. These ensure optimal picture quality aligned with creators’ intentions.
The BRAVIA 5 is IMAX® Enhanced-certified, offering support for DTS:X® surround sound via compatible content on Disney+. Dolby Vision® and Dolby Atmos® are also supported across major streaming platforms.
The TV features Sony’s XR Backlight Master Drive for precise local dimming and a wide dynamic range, adopted from its professional-grade monitors. At 98 inches, it integrates seamlessly with BRAVIA Theatre audio systems, which can be controlled via the BRAVIA Connect app or TV remote.
Accessibility features include a Talkback screen reader with adjustable voice speed, tactile indicators on HDMI and S-Center terminals, and voice command integration. Shortcut commands allow toggling of accessibility features for inclusive use.
Sony has incorporated recycled materials including SORPLAS™, plastic, steel and aluminium into components like speaker boxes and bezels. The Eco Dashboard 2 system enables users to manage energy settings and monitor consumption efficiently.
The BRAVIA 5 is priced at RM29,999 and includes a BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9, a wireless subwoofer (SA-SW5), and RM300 Touch ‘n Go credit.
The launch takes place alongside the Sony Expo at Midvalley Megamall, running until July 6, 2025.
