Sony has unveiled two new camera power supply solutions designed for its Alpha series, specifically catering to the needs of creators using Cinema Line cameras with the NP-FZ100 battery. The newly introduced products are the BC-ZD1 battery charger and the DC-C1 DC coupler.

The BC-ZD1 is a high-speed charger capable of charging two NP-FZ100 batteries simultaneously in approximately 155 minutes when connected to a USB Power Delivery (PD) compatible power supply of 30W or higher. It features a compact design for easy portability, measuring approximately 84.5 mm in width, 29.2 mm in height, and 70.0 mm in depth, with a weight of around 149g. Additionally, it includes an indicator lamp displaying the battery charging status across five stages, ensuring users can monitor the charging process effectively.

On the other hand, the DC-C1 coupler supplies power directly from an external source to cameras compatible with NP-FZ100 or NP-FW50 batteries. This product is designed to maintain a continuous power supply during lengthy shoots or streaming sessions, requiring a USB PD-compatible AC adapter of 65W or more. The DC-C1 also incorporates a locking screw hole to prevent accidental disconnections, along with a flexible 1.6m cable for adaptable setup.

By expanding its range of power solutions, Sony aims to facilitate longer photo and video shoots, contributing to a more efficient workflow for content creators. Both the BC-ZD1 and DC-C1 are expected to be available in Malaysia starting November 2024.
