Sony Creates TOUGH SD Cards for Photographers

Sony SF-G series TOUGH specification UHS-II SD cards

Sony addresses the needs of photographers with its brand-new innovation in storage media. The SF-G series TOUGH specification UHS-II SD cards gives peace of mind to photographers when their SD cards are removed from the camera.

The new SF-G series TOUGH specification range combines the world’s fastest read and write speeds, packaged in an ultra-rugged design that is bend-proof to 180N and drop-proof to five metres.

They are protected against typical physical damage that can affect conventional SD cards. This includes a broken plastic casing, broken data protection lock and broken connector ribs.

The range boasts of being 18 times stronger than the SD standard. It features the world’s first monolithic structure that bares no empty space in the card. It is also the world’s first rib-less SD card with no write protection switch. Moreover, the range of SD cards come with an waterproof rating (IPX8), in addition to being dust-proof (IPX6).

The SF-G TOUGH series of memory cards are available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB capacities.  The range will be available in Asia come October 2018.
