RM45,000 (SGD15,050) was robbed from a Singaporean family in Kuala Lumpur, but they managed to catch the thief using a smartphone app that traces where a phone is located.
A local newspaper mentioned that Liu Wai Yaw and his family fell prey to a group of snatch thieves on motorcycles. Liu tried pursuing the assailants but failed, which prompted his son to track the phone using a smartphone app similar to “Find My iPhone” to help trace the thieves.
Together with the help of the police, they managed to apprehend the thief at a flat located near Bandar Tun Razak MRT.
