According to Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH) , preliminary confirmation records an additional 1,016 cases of COVID-19 infection as of April 22, 12pm.
The country had 9,125 cases as of yesterday, making it home to the highest number in the region.
The vast majority of whom are Work Permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories. 15 of the identified cases are made up of Singaporeans and Permanent Residents.
The island nation’s health ministry is still working through the details of the cases, and further updates will be shared via the MoH press release which will be issued tonight.
In a televised address yesterday, the Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced an extension to the circuit breaker that is currently in place until June 1. The restriction were imposed at the start of April and was initially due to end on May 4.
