PlayStation Experience SEA is starting to pick up some steam. Despite humble beginnings in 2017, it looks like the folks at PlayStation Asia are ready to bring some exclusives to the event this year. At Bangkok, Thailand from 18th to 19th August 2018, FromSoftware will bring brand-new gameplay footage from Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice for visitors to enjoy.
According to the announcement video, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be at the event as an exclusive theatre experience, showcasing never-before-seen gameplay. The special mini-theatre will be in the venue itself. It’s unclear whether the game will be playable as well, but this seems unlikely.
In case you didn’t know Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is the next and latest game by FromSoftware, the developers behind Dark Souls and Bloodborne. It takes place in an Sengoku-like era, with locales and enemies inspired by the samurai period. Although it features a similar style of gameplay as the SoulsBorne games, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice does away with the RPG-style of growth and customisation fans are used to. This puts this new IP in a unique spot of being familiar, yet also a wholly unknown entity.
For now, the gameplay trailer from E3 is all that we know about how Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice plays. Putting a spin on the typical formula, you’ll have a grappling hook of sorts, stealth mechanics, and a new way of dealing with in-game deaths.
Apart from Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Sony will bring over some of the hottest E3 2018 demos to this year’s PSX SEA. Resident Evil 2 Remake has also been announced to make an appearance, with a playable demo to boot on the show floor. More title announcements will be made soon as the date approaches, so keep your eyes peeled for them.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice launches on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2019.
