A second trailer for Tenet, a film by Christopher Nolan (Inception, The Dark Knight), was recently debuted on popular battle royale, Fortnite.
During the trailer’s premiere, Nolan also announced that he’ll be screening one of his iconic films on Fortnite later this summer. That, right there, is a massive win for Fortnite players.

Tenet is the latest movie to premiere one of its trailers on Fortnite. Before Tenet, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker also debuted one of its trailers in the game.
The trailer itself gives a bit more context regarding what the film is about. It shows how its protagonist, portrayed by John David Washington, has the ability to move time backward. That’s why the movie’s called Tenet because backward it’s also spelled, well, Tenet.
With that ability in hand, he’s tasked with having to save the world. Or something like that.
The release date was not mentioned on the trailer, but it was later confirmed through marketing material that it’s still set to release on July 17, 2020.
It’s more significant since Tenet is now a litmus test for other films, too. That means, if Tenet actually releases on July 17, the other blockbuster films will follow suit.
Movies like Mulan and Wonder Woman 1984 are just some of the films that’ll follow in Tenet’s footsteps.
If Tenet ends up changing its release, however, that may force those other movies to delay their releases yet again.
For now, though, Tenet seems determined to release on July 16. Whether that changes or not will depend on the COVID-19 situation.
