Sandisk Skyhawk SSDs Announced – Made for Datacentres

Western Digital, through their subsidiary Sandisk, is releasing their first enterprise NVMe SSDs. These 2.5″ U.2 SSDs are not directly linked to Western Digital’s Ultrastar SN200 as far as we know.

There will be two variants of the Sandisk Skyhawk – the standard version in 1920GB and 3840GB capacities as well as a Skyhawk Ultra version with 1600GB and 3200GB versions. Both will run off a PCIe 3.0 NVMe 1.2 controller and draw between 10.5W and 12W for low power consumption.
