Quick question, what is the best way to get your product across to people? If your answer is a live demo, then you’re thinking along the lines Samsung did as they ferried a dozen members of the media for a live demonstration of the Samsung Gear S in Port Dickson.

Dubbed a “Spy Camp”, this two day one night trip gave the media an opportunity to have a hands on experience with the smartwatch itself. To demonstrate the capabilities of the Gear S, members of the media are required to complete a set of challenges by only using the Gear S as well as a Samsung Galaxy Alpha.

Samsung’s “Spy Camp” was the perfect setup to test all the functionalities of the Gear S such as the Super AMOLED display that provides a rich viewing experience. Other parts of the Gear S that were utilised during the Spy Camp include the communication capabilities such as the ability to make calls or send messages from the Gear S itself, and the ability to sychronise information seamlessly when paired with a Samsung smartphone.

Other parts of the Gear S that was utilised include the health and fitness companions which includes the heart rate monitor and the pedometer included in the smartwatch itself. The IP67 rating also protects the Gear S from sand and water commonly found on the beaches, a necessity when completing challenges located by the beach.

The Samsung Gear S is available at all Samsung Experience Stores and authorised resellers and retails for RM 1,099.
