Samsung had debuted its latest wearable device during the Mobile World Congress. Developed by Salted Venture, a startup company that is supported by Samsung, IOFIT utilises a combination of pressure sensors and a coaching app to improve user’s balance and body posture.
Jacob Cho, CEO of Salted Venture cited: “There’s so much valuable information coming from our feet, and it’s being wasted. So, we wanted to make use of this data and utilise it to provide value to people. That was the driving force behind IOFIT.”
The fashion industry today is more about style as opposed to functionality, and that is why the company has been focusing on primarily the design of its smart shoes.
Marketer, Jung Soo Park also noted: “We don’t want people to just buy our shoes for functionality. We also want them to feel proud when they wear our shoes in public.”
