Samsung held their Southeast Asian forum today with some rather interesting reveals. No, the Samsung GALAXY SIII was nowhere to be seen; but there were some other things for us to look at.

The Korean manufacturer brought along their new range of smart home appliances to show off. These WiFi equipped gizmos are supposed to bring the future to our homes. In the picture you should be able to make out their smart refrigerator, the smart washing machine and the smart air conditioner. The washing machine and air conditioner are both capable of being remotely operated by an app; as long as they have a WiFi connection.

Next up, their new range of Smart TVs (Smart is a word you’ll be hearing a lot of). These LED TVs come with a super sharp image that has to be seen to be believed.  The ES7500 and the ES8500 are both fully internet capable and are built under Samsung’s three guiding pillars of Smart Interaction, Smart Content and Smart Evolution. More on this later when it becomes available in Malaysia, but the important bits are Smart Interaction (which allows voice and motion controls) and Smart Evolution (which allows the TV to be upgraded via a special upgrade kit).

The Samsung Audio Dock E750 takes us back to vacuum tube technology to get the best audio quality available. Using a proprietary Vacuum Tube Amplifier system this audio dock is designed for the premium market and supports most Samsung GALAXY devices, as well as Apple products (very nice of them to include this).

One of the big highlights of the forum was the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and 10.1. Both these tablets are the first of Samsung’s tablet lineup for 2012 and look pretty nifty. Both feature a 1GHz Dualcore processor, 1 GB RAM and run on Android 4.0. We’ll feature a full writeup when the devices arrive in April, so until then stay tuned for more updates.
