Looks like the rumour mill and leaks have not been far off the mark, the New York unveiling by Samsung was for the Note 5 and a sleek larger Galaxy Edge 6+. Both were seen sporting a 5.7 inch quad HD amoled display with both looking stunning however only the Note 5 had a stylus.
in terms of the innards, not much different compared to the S6, the upsized phones run on Octa-core Exynos 7420 the same processors found in the Galaxy S6 range with 4GB RAM. Notably, Samsung has omitted the memory slots just as it did with the S6 so cloud will be the way forward, as for the snappers rear camera carries a 16 megapixel lens and 5 megapixel for the front coupled with f1.9 aperture for those low light moments. Battery is also bigger at 3000MAh with fast charging feature and is not removable.
We’ve written extensively on the S6 on their features and specification and how we adore the curved display on the Edge, the Edge+ comes with same unibody chassis and gorilla glass, nice to hold and feels sophisticated in the hand, also the sturdiness gives a piece of mind (just in case). New add-ons worth mentioning are the Samsung Pay, which allows the phone to trigger credit card payment will be available only in Korea for now. And a new fancy function of the Livestream mode, that allows live broadcast on YouTube direct from the camera app and allows users to schedule streams or create even a private invite only session.
Availability in the US is scheduled to by August 21 for both models and comes in Black or Gold, 32Gb and 64GB.
