Samsung Highlights Trust, Security And Privacy As Core To AI Adoption

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. convened a panel of global experts to discuss the role of trust in AI at its Tech Forum session “In Tech We Trust? Rethinking Security & Privacy in the AI Age” at CES 2026 in Las Vegas.

The discussion explored how transparency, security, and user control are shaping AI adoption as it becomes increasingly integrated into daily life.

Panellists Allie K. Miller, CEO of Open Machine; Amy Webb, CEO of the Future Today Strategy Group; Zack Kass, Global AI Advisor at ZKAI Advisory; and Shin Baik, AI Platform Centre Group Head at Samsung, emphasised that trust must be earned through predictable and understandable AI behaviour.

Samsung highlighted its trust-by-design approach, which prioritises local on-device AI for privacy, selective cloud usage for scale, and clear visibility of AI-powered functions.

Security was a key focus, with Samsung showcasing its Knox platform and Knox Matrix, a cross-device framework that enables devices to authenticate and protect each other.

Shin Baik noted, “Trust in AI starts with security that’s proven, not promised,” underscoring the importance of resilient, ecosystem-wide protection.

The panel also discussed how transparency and predictability influence consumer adoption, with Amy Webb noting that convenience often drives purchases more than trust alone. Zack Kass added that while AI misuse is a challenge, technology itself can mitigate risks.

The forum concluded that AI systems that prioritise security, transparency, and meaningful user control will be best positioned to earn long-term trust as intelligence becomes increasingly invisible in everyday devices.
