Forget about dual monitors, Samsung has combined two 27″ screens into one, in this massive looking rather awkward display measuring 49″ from across corners and calling it the largest gaming monitor in the world.
The Samsung CHG90 has a 32:9 aspect ratio with 3840 x 1080 resolution and yes its also curved, gamers are taking into the whole curved designed monitors claiming to give natural field of view – filling their gaze to its periphery, and enhancing immersion. Apart from being behemoth, the offers a plethora of valid features that could tempt you to purchase a unit if you have the space like low reflecting coating, flicker and blue light emit control which is meant to protect your eyes.
The panoramic perspective is supposedly makes viewing movies and videos that much more cinematic, and give gamers the ability to scan their characters’ surroundings in their entirety, unhindered by the bezels that would otherwise would block out the center of the screen if using a dual-monitor setup. Another advantage would be the Picture-by-Picture function which supports simultaneous connection of two external inputs, allowing the monitor to serve as two separate screens for different devices.
A variety of ports can be found on the CHG90 including two HDMI inputs, a display port and a Mini DisplayPort, the adjustable-height stand features tilts and swivels giving better orientation and comfort.
Looking to replace the dual-monitor, Samsung has the steroid edition for you but I doubt they thought about logistics before sending the CHG90 into production. What they should work on next is the worlds largest fold-able monitor.
