Red is the official fancy colour of the month for smartphones, so it seems, with already another brand launching a similar hue just a month back, Samsung is giving its popular flagship Galaxy S8 a burgundy makeover.

In time for Christmas, the new colour exudes festivity and will be a welcome addition to the other colour palette in the series. Burgundy Red will join Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, Coral Blue, Arctic Silver and Maple Gold.

Samsung will seek to clear available stocks pending the arrival of the successor in January and it is rumoured Galaxy S9 will be unveiled at CES Las Vegas. Placing iPhone X as the device to beat, the upcoming flagship could possibly feature an onscreen finger print scanner, and finally have an edge to edge display all round.
