In less than half a year since it is first launched, Samsung’s flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S2 has managed to hit the magical 10 million mark, making it one of the fastest and hottest selling smartphones in the market. The sales were so good in fact, that the phone moved 5 million units in eight weeks leading up to September.
The smartphone, deemed to be one of the thinnest in the market, measures in at 8.49mm and has a Super AMOLED Plus display at 4.3 inches. Featuring Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and a 1GHz dual core processor, it’s no wonder the phone is the choice of many throughout the world.
“Since its launch in late April 2011, the GALAXY S II has seen continued sales success, demonstrating Samsung’s industry-leading capabilities in – and commitment to – the smartphone market” said JK Shin, President and Head of Samsung’s Mobile Communications Business.
