Samsung has been trying to tap into the enterprise market for its handset notably when the DeX was introduced last year. Looking to fill the gap left by BlackBerry when the company went belly up, it now wants its phones to appeal beyond consumers who commonly chose the phones for aesthetics and entertainment features but wants the working community to view its smartphones as productivity devices.
Galaxy Note 8 Enterprise Edition is another attempt by Samsung to foray into the business segment, the company has introduced an unlocked version of the Note 8 specifically for SMB and corporate usage. The Edition offers enterprise-level customisation, management, support and security enhancements to the cater for the business community.
Customisation can be easily managed with the unlocked devices, IT admins can quickly, securely and remotely configure and deploy branded purpose content and applications. E-FOTA enables IT admins to comprehensively manage a fleet of devices through centralized OS and software version control and scheduled updates. The Note8 Enterprise Edition also brings traditional PC-class product lifecycle support services to the smartphone. Devices receive regular monthly security updates for up to three years, and purchase assurance that they can buy the same device model up to two years from availability.
As for internal features and functions, they are similar with the Galaxy Note 8 model launched two months back. The Note8 Enterprise Edition is available for US$994.
