Imagine stacking your own television screen with tiny Lego like pieces, how cool will that be! Samsung Electronics must have tons of Lego bricks in their R&D department to come up with this innovative idea of using modular micro LED’s to make a life size display of any shape.
Using its new Micro LED technology the company was able to showcase a new 75” display, a 219” dubbed The Wall and a myriad of other sizes build using the modular concept.
Featuring leading-edge self-emissive technology and modular capabilities, Samsung’s Micro LED displays do not falter in delivering good picture quality nor perform any inferior to conventional screens. The display is made up millions of inorganic red, green and blue microscopic LED chips that emit their own light to produce the required colours on screen. They can then be assembled to make up the size of the screen.
Among the benefits of using a modular design is the ability to scale to any size as one wishes after purchasing a particular size, odd-shaped walls no problem. It also manages to support everything from the standard 16:9 content, to 21:9 widescreen films, to unconventional aspect ratios like 32:9, or even 1:1 differing aspect ratios. All this can be achieved without compromising on resolution, picture quality or viewing experience.
The displays are bezel-free with no borders between modules – even when more panels are added.
