Saints Row 3 Is Getting Remastered; Prepare To Blast Kanye West’s ‘Power’ Over And Over Again

Saints Row 3 was an amazing game when it released back in 2011, and now it’s getting it’s just deserts with a remaster for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The open-world action-adventure game, bedazzled with absurdity and humour is set to release on May 22 as Saints Row: The Third Remastered.

This game was simply nuts when it first came out, and mainly because there wasn’t anything like it around. There was the GTA-esque aspect of gangs, running around an open world, and killing people, but Saints Row 3 did something different. You’re set in the world as the leader of the Third Street Saints gang in Steelport, and you’ve built a crime syndicate family at the top of the food chain. There’ll be rival gangs and syndicates to fight, hovercraft, jumping out of airplanes, throwing people off buildings, and a whole lot more nonsense.

But what’s new with the ‘Remastered’ version, you may ask? Well based on the trailer, they’ve put a lot of work into remastering the game, including HDR and PBR rendering. PBR rendering essentially means you get better lighting, and more realistic. You know, like it’s actually emanating from the sun? Besides that, the NPCs have been remade from scratch, as well as the vehicles have improved visuals, and even the weapons, which have been reconstructed with higher polycounts.

This remastered version will have all 30+ DLCs, along with all the visual upgrades. So far, it’s looking to be quite a deal for the money.

I actually am very serious when I say I love this game. This was my first entry into the Saints Row franchise, and I couldn’t ask for a better game to get into. That one level in particular, where the game blasts Kanye West’s ‘Power’ while you jump from a helicopter unto an unsuspecting pool party was iconic. Can’t wait to do all that, and look good doing it.
