Word on the internet right now is Samsung might invest $40 million in Pokemon Go’s developer, Niantic . The investment is reported to an exclusive collaboration between both firms on new games.

Official announcements are expected to come out in the next few weeks that Samsung’s possible collaboration with Niantic might echo the tech giant’s partnership with Epic Games which saw Fortnite games pre-installed on the Galaxy Note 9.

According to the Inquirer, the collaboration is meant to work on an exclusive Harry Potter game, which will utilise Samsung’s S-Pen stylus as a makeshift magic wand. However, it’s currently unclear whether this will arrive as a reworked version of Niantic’s incoming Harry Potter: Wizards Unite title, which is set to be released in 2019, or as a completely standalone game.

Further reports by the Inquirer also states that the deal will also include Niantic’s location-based Ingress title. The rumor comes at an aptly time as Niantic is looking to raise money to support an IPO while Samsung is trying to differentiate itself from its competition.
