Sales for Read Dead Redemption 2 has skyrocketed since the preorders began on October 25th. Currently, those who own a Sony PlayStation 4 or an XBox One are lucky enough to play. It’s quite unfortunate for PC gamers, don’t you think?
Well, rumors have been going around on a possible PC version of the game which may come out soon. The game would be sold on Steam but the real question here is, when? Rockstar employees apparently hinted about the PC version of the game in their LinkedIn profiles. However, it were merely rumors which were hard to believe. There have been some findings in the RDR2 mobile companion app which have some strong hints on the PC version.
Rockstar Intel (not an official from Rockstar) found a few interesting parameters regarding the PC version of the game. Below are some of the parameters:
- PARAM_FrameLimit – A framelimiter.
- PARAM_DX11Use8BitTargets – Probably due to Xbox One.
- PARAM_HDStreamingInFlight – Present in GTA V (PC)
- PARAM_Oculus
- PARAM_companionAutoConnectIpDurango
- PARAM_companionAutoConnectIpOrbis
- PARAM_companionAutoConnectIpPC
- PARAM_singleThreadedRenderer
- PostFX::g_CheckerBoardEnable
An interesting hint from the list of parameters present above is the use of Oculus. Since Oculus is present, this could mean the game could be playable in VR mode. Don’t let this rumor get into your heads just yet. Do bear in mind that these are just merely rumors.
Whether will there be a PC version of the game is all in Rockstar’s hands. Even if the rumors happened to be true, the game would probably be launched somewhere in the first quarter of next year. We will keep you posted on the status of the Red Ded Redemption 2 for PC so stick around!
