Logitech has given a mild update to the G502 Proteus Spectrum and called it the G502 Hero. The latest model now has 3 new features – a new Hero optical sensor that can track from 100 to 16000 DPI (dots per inch) and exceeds the 400 IPS (inch per second) benchmark for better accuracy, a thinner braided cable and can support up to 5 onboard memory profiles.

The G502 Hero has 11 buttons that can reprogrammed to your favourite game commands. It features full RGB lighting that lights up the DPI and the new Logitech logo. The mouse can be tuned to your preference using the additional weights that come with it for a much better gaming experience. You can even unlock the scroll wheel to navigate long pages quicker and more effortlessly.

Logitech could include more lighting zones in the mouse and come up with a more refreshing design since it was brought over from the previous G502 model. Users with large hands may also find the mouse a little small. This is especially true for me as my little finger was resting on the table while using the mouse.

Apart from that, the DPI shift button has a tendency to get in the way as my thumb happens to rest perfectly on the button. Accidentally brushing against the button can happen quite often too. Nonetheless, the mouse is still a great option for more gamers out there. Those who already own a G502 but want an upgrade, you may have to look elsewhere for that.
