The moment you pick up the LEAGOO T1, you’d be hard pressed to imagine this is a sub 600 Ringgit phone. The metallic backplate is smooth and cold to the touch, with tactile buttons that depress with confidence. The power button is also textured, making it easy to find in the dark. Unfortunately, the T1 also inherits the camera bump every phone maker seems to have, ruining the smooth back somewhat. Another flaw we noticed was that the SIM/microSD tray never sat quite flush with the chassis and wiggled somewhat in its slot. Sharing the screen with a friend might be a problem as well, as the HD display has horrid viewing angles. 

Run-of-the-mill
The T1 is a budget smartphone, and it seems perfectly content to perform as such. General navigation around the device was stable and consistent rather than snappy, with apps taking a fair bit longer to load than we were used to. There were also occasional hiccups when the software would fail to respond, especially when jumping around applications. Graphically intensive games such as Asphalt 8 also looked fairly toned down, with jaggy edges and blurry textures. Still, games did run fairly smoothly and the heat levels remained low enough that long gaming sessions weren’t a problem.

POINT 1: Tough as nails (point1 towards screen)
This may be a budget smartphone, but protecting the screen is the incredibly resilient Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It even comes with a free screen protector! 

POINT 2: Floating Gesture (point2 towards edge of screen)
The T1 has a handy gesture button that allows quick access to special modes, such as a Game Mode that disables the back and menu button so your game time doesn’t get interrupted. Neat!

POINT 3: Lightning Quick (point3, pointing towards the fingerprint reader on the back)
Arguably set in one of the better positions, the fingerprint reader on the back is incredibly quick and accurate, never failing throughout our time with the device.
