Obvious Clickbait

As a personal preference, I am a big fan of Cherry MX mechanical switches rather than a brand’s own interpretation. Except for Logitech, I have not been thoroughly impressed with other brands like Razer, and Gamdias is no exception. The actuation force on the Gamdias Hermes P1 is above average at best but the clicks are a lot more audible compared to the Gamdias Hermes RGB. Overall, it is great for gaming and typing but it’s not the ideal keyboard I would want.

Keeping Your Macros In Check

If you’re a hardcore gamer with plenty of different macro profiles to suit your games and playstyles, the Hermes P1 is great since you can store up to six different profiles into the keyboard’s built-in 32bit ARM CortexTM-M3 microprocessor. Whether its Skyrim, Diablo III or even World of Warcraft, you can have macro profiles for all your games, giving you greater flexibility with your keys.

A Great Alternative

Aside from the goliaths like Razer, SteelSeries and Corsair who are the top echelons of gaming peripherals, I would Gamdias around the same league as Logitech, which is right below the top brands. For the price of RM399, the Hermes P1 RGB is a great buy if you’re not picky with mechanical switches and are just looking for a good gaming keyboard with RGB lighting and capable of lasting you a long time.
