Every year during CES, we see tons of peripherals on show how many of them make it to commercialisation and what percentage get shipped to this region is still far and few. But that doesn’t mean we don’t feature cool and ‘what could be’ products that have potentials. Like this weird looking mouse.
What is Ergonomic in PC Gaming?
The world has seen young talents in Esports fade all too quickly due to hand and wrist injuries, and RSI is no stranger to the office folks who work in front of PC 6+ hours a day.
RBT – Right ‘Bove Touch is a renovated design that may look ridiculous at first, like the inverted umbrella, at first glance makes no sense at all, that is until you tried it and realized what benefits it has brought to the table.
Traditional PC peripherals like the mouse, has created injuries for millions of people. Its unintended evil lies within the tapping motions using your fingertips, when fingertips are repeated used with force, we get carpal tunnel, more so, when the shape of its backside is often made higher than its front, causing repeatedly muscle and tendon strains. This was no fault of their own, however, because the consumer mouse was originally designed for those walking around the office and standing up while they work all day, I.E. Xerox.
QuadraClicks has created RBT so that the mechanism of making a click is now 100% safe and intuitive for those of us who use the PC while comfortably sitting down, RBT lets you press with the bottom areas of your fingers, as it moves closer to below the knuckles, you execute with ease. Its backside is lower than that of the front, having raised platforms where your fingers can rest when not used because the fingertip region is made immovable, and clicking is comfortable from the bottom of the fingers, we call this back click and base click. Using this method, we’re not only able to perform tasks without strain, but also perform faster through reduced reaction time.
Not convinced yet? do this simple experiment:
Press your index and middle finger tips into table right now, the harder you press, the more you’ll feel tensions rising into the topside of your arm, upper arm, and even into the shoulder and neck. (Discomfort and Carpal Tunnel).
Now, use the edge of the table, or your other hand, press into the base areas of your index and middle fingers, and see what you feel… that’s right, the tension only affects the inside of your arm, biceps, and chest muscles.
The front higher than back design, with raised platform eliminates unnecessary muscle and tendon sabotage which the public misconception calls “palm support”.
We have created a new mechanism for professional Esports gamers and long term PC users to help prolong their career life.
