Razer announced their successor to the Razer Phone in early October. Unsurprisingly, it’s called the Razer Phone 2 and it looks nearly identical to the first iteration. The internals have been refreshed to the latest that 2018 has to offer.
The Razer Phone 2 now sports a brand spanking new Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, with 8GB RAM to keep things smooth. A base model will be equipped with 64GB ROM storage, and a higher-end satin finish model will have 128GB ROM storage. You can even expand storage to include a microSD card up to 1 terabyte.
Display-wise, the Phone 2 (by Razer) will have a bright 5.72inch LCD screen with the same 120Hz refresh rate that made the first Razer Phone so popular among gamers. Regular smartphones refresh at 60Hz, so doubling that in theory, makes for better gaming. The screen will be pushing 2560 x 1440 pixels, which is the exact same as the first phone.
Software-wise, the Razer Phone 2 will be built on Android 8.1 Oreo, skinned with Nova Launcher, one of the most customisable launchers available on the Play Store. A planned upgrade to Android 9 Pie will be in the works, shortly after it is launched.
Pricing has been announced at USD799 (RM3,322) for the 64GB version and USD899 (RM3,737) for the 128GB satin finish version.
