Malaysian artiste Queenzy Cheng, a former member of the popular girl group M-Girls, has tragically passed away at the age of 37. The news was shared through an official statement on Cheng’s Facebook and Instagram pages on Tuesday (November 28).

According to reports, Cheng suffered a brain aneurysm while filming for the social media channel Squad Sekawan. Local artiste Chai Zi, who was present during the incident, recounted that Cheng collapsed while preparing to film the second episode, expressing feelings of dizziness, nausea, and a headache.

Chai Zi, co-founder of Squad Sekawan, revealed that an ambulance was called immediately after Cheng vomited. Despite the swift arrival of the ambulance within five minutes, Cheng could not be revived and was pronounced dead.

Cheng’s passing has deeply affected the entertainment industry, with condolences pouring in from fellow celebrities, friends, and fans. Many local celebrities, including Crystal Ong and Angeline Khoo, former members of M-Girls, have expressed their grief on social media.

On Instagram, Khoo posted a photo of herself traveling to Cheng’s hometown in Perlis to pay her last respects. Crystal Ong shared a photo of herself with Cheng on her Instagram Story.

Singer Nick Chung and actress Mandy Chen paid tribute to Cheng by recalling memorable moments spent with her. Actress Joey Leong shared her sentiments on Instagram, expressing regret at not having had a chance for a more extended conversation with Cheng.

Cheng’s funeral is reportedly scheduled for Saturday, December 2, as reported by Sin Chew Daily. The untimely loss of Queenzy Cheng has left a void in the Malaysian entertainment scene, and her memory will be cherished by fans and colleagues alike.
