With more devices enter homes that require constant connectivity, the need for a Wi-Fi networking solution that is able to support them is key. The Qualcomm mesh networking platform was first released in 2017, and last year, the chipmaker integrated advanced voice services and now the inclusion of development kit for Alexa Voice Service will enable users to command their home devices with Amazon products.
The application of the mesh is that the platform can provide corner-to-corner coverage, connect any smart home device, and provide the ability to control the entire home by voice. With the introduction of this kit, designers building Wi-Fi mesh networking systems can integrate voice into the products. It’s the result of integrating Meeami Technologies’ ClearVoice far-field voice enhancement software, which helps deliver superior user experiences, even in noisy environments around the home.
The Qualcomm Mesh Networking Development Kit has been qualified for the Alexa Voice Service by Amazon and is designed to offer manufacturers the necessary building blocks to quickly and cost-effectively create mesh Wi-Fi systems with Alexa built-in.
