The third generation of Powerbeats by Beats (obviously) are now available for purchase in selected markets. Just like the Airpods from Apple, they use the company’s ‘W1’ chip to do a couple of pretty nifty things.

First of all, using the W1 enables the Powerbeats3 to use half the amount of power as its predecessor, so it lasts half a day now. They’ve pushed this advantage by adding a quick charge feature that gives you 1 hour of music from just plugging into a wall for 5 minutes. They call this ‘Fast Fuel’.

The W1 chip also allows these headphones to connect seamlessly via Bluetooth to the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. It’ll work with other Bluetooth-enabled devices, just not as smoothly. The Powerbeats3 headphones are available in 5 colours, Black, Red, Green, Blue and White.
