The frenzy this game is causing is unlike any other the world has ever seen, with millions already playing Pokemon Go and more jumping on the craziness even before a global launch. Side effects right now is the amount of unwanted incidents it is causing.

Reports came in, where some players have fallen into swimming pools searching for the elusive characters from the game, then there was the case of a child crossing a major highway and meeting with an accident (luckily not fatal) while many others are falling down or tumbling down hills looking fo cute Pokemon’s hiding. While throngs are unperturbed by the malaise the game is causing, there are loads more in Europe and US downloading the app, curious to see what the craze is all about.

The popularity has also invited unintended attention to the game makers, hacker groups simply not mused by the popularity have momentarily disrupt the phenomena by hacking into Pokemon Go servers and crashing them, leaving a denial of service (DDOS). Thus millions who have become addicted to the mobile game, have taken on to social sites to vent out their frustrations, users have even deleted the app and re loaded thinking its the phone problem, losing all the found Pokemon’s. A hacker group called PoodleCorp has since taken responsibility for the attack.

Makers of the game, have announced that they are working on restoring the servers and fix the problem, asking for patience. Last week a man crashed his car into a tree in New York, claiming to be distracted by the game in another incident two men fell off a cliff lured to find the animated characters. One blogger in China called for the game to be banned in the country, fear of confidential military zone location being revealed via the game. The game uses google maps to hide the animations and players having to seek them out.
