Nintendo has finally announced Pokémon for Nintendo Switch!

Called Pokkén Tournament Deluxe, it’s a fighting game that pits Pokémons against each other in gym battles. As shown in the trailer, there seems to be several modes of playing, taking full advantage of the Switch’s different modes for the console. There are 3 vs 3 team battles, as well as online ranked matches, friend only group matches.

Nintendo Switch’s version will feature the 16 playable characters found in WiiU version of Pokken Tournament, with the addition of Darkrai, Scizor, Empoleon, Croagunk and Decidueye, bringing a total of 21 playable Pokémons. Pokkén Tournament Deluxe will be available 22 September this year.

There will be a playable demo at E3 next week, with an invitational tournament set to be featured as an on stage event on 14 June and streamed live from E3.

Along with this announcement, Nintendo also announced Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon for Nintendo 3DS. It will be globally released on 17 November.

For the additional nostalgic factor, Nintendo also announced Pokémon Gold Version and Silver Version for the virtual console service in Nintendo 3DS. Originally released in 1999, this release is aimed to bring back memories for loyal fans. Pokémon Gold Version and Silver Version will be compatible with Pokémon Bank. To be launched on the same day as Pokken Tournament Deluxe for Nintendo Switch on the 22 September.
