PNY Releases High-End SSD for M.2-2280 Slot

PNY now has a high-end M.2-2280 SSD line for premium builders. The new CS2030 SSDs are built with Phison PS5007-E7 controllers and feature 15nm MLC NAND memory from Toshiba.

Compared to rivals that use similar parts, these PNY systems have better random write performance but the tradeoff is slower sequential read/write speeds.

For now, these SSDs is being sold in 240GB (US$180) and 480GB (US$330) capacities, but a 120GB version may be in the works, given the box art.

The 240GB variant has slower sequential read (2750 vs 2800 MB/s), sequential write (1500 vs 1550 MB/s), random read (201K vs 300K 4KB IOPS), and random write speeds (215K vs 270K 4KB IOPS). The drives come with a three-year warranty.
