PM: We Won!

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin has declared victory over the fight against Covid-19 pandemic that loomed over Malaysia since March. This comes after international bodies congratulated the country over its handling of the disease.

Making his address to over 250 officials from the Prime Ministers Office, Muhyiddin paid tribute to the efforts of government staff and the people as a whole. ” We are grateful that Malaysia has overcome from a challenging period in managing Covid-19 that has plagued the world over, this was possible because we all came together making proper judgement and acting quickly to prevent the virus from spreading in the community”

The government does not take the victory lightly, its been extremely tough as the country has never encountered a situation or widespread plague like this in its 60 year history. He added that we must take pride of our frontliners who rose to the challenge and stepped up when the country needed them.

Malaysia is now under the recovery period labelled RMCO, this phase allows nearly all sectors to function as normal but SOPs like temperature and personal records are still required. The country continues to clock new cases but at minimum rate, hospital capacity is at 97.7% which enables new infections to be treated without any pressure.

“Even though the Covid-19 problem cannot be completely wiped out until a vaccine is discovered, we have taken preemptive steps possibly much earlier than many other nations still struggling to stem the virus” Muhyiddin concluded.

As of this post, Malaysia’s cumulative case stands at 8663 with 121 deaths, active cases is at 77.
