Leica has always been well known by photography enthusiasts for producing great quality images, all in one cool looking camera. Taking a step further, Leica has announced the availability of its new camera dubbed the Leica M Monochrom, fitted with a newly developed black and white sensor.

The new Leica M Monochrom offers a few new upgrades, such as a buffer memory up to 2GB, a new high-performance Leica Maestro image processor, and 24MP high-res black-and-white sensor in full-frame format. Thanks to its 1080p full-HD video capability, the M Monochrom can also capture high-quality video in black and white.

From August 2015, a series of specially calculated filters in the colours yellow, green and orange will be available as optional accessories, while the Leica M Monochrom (Typ 246) will be available from May 2015.
