In effort to make police reports less cumbersome, the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) has just introduce the eReporting platform for lost of myKad, driving licenses and passport for all citizens.

For those who have lost these documents without any criminal incident, they can now file their loss report to the police department at the comfort of their home. The pilot project was first made available in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, KL vicinity and after finding the initiative effective, KL Chief Police Amar Singh will now deploy this across 6 districts in his jurisdiction.

The web portal will require users who are aged 18 and above to register with username and password before proceeding to file in their report. Majority of reports received by the police are of those on document loss and with eReporting. With this new service, PDRM will be able to reduce paperwork and resources which can be utilised on other areas. Tan Sri Khalid, Inspector General of Police added, soon even petty issues like loss of smartphones, laptops and even runaway maids can be filled once the service goes nationwide.
