Having already announced a new range of wireless controllers that will be officially licensed for both the PS4 and PS4 Pro last October, Playstation now introduces the first of many third-party wireless controllers with the Onyx Wireless Controller by Hori.
The Onyx is designed to look very much like an Xbox controller, which has been touted as one of best controllers ever made on numerous occasions. The controller will also come with Bluetooth capabilities as well as the core controls for the PS4. It also features asymmetrical joysticks with a touchpad and dual vibration motors.
There will be other controllers coming our way soon but sadly, most of them are wired controllers. Hori will also be releasing another controller, the Hori Wired Mini Gamepad. Unlike the Onyx Wireless Controller, the Wired Mini Gamepad is a highly-compact retro design, harking back to the days of the Nintendo NES controller.
Another controller comes from @PLAY with its Wired Compact Controller. While it’s shape does resemble a typical PS controller, its D-pad doesn’t and it comes in four distinct colours. Another addition is the Nacon Wired Compact Controller, which is the creator of the Revolution Pro Controller.
While the new model bares a strong resemblance, it comes with a more compact design, perfect for younger gamers. It also features an LED light at the front of the controller, which ties in with in-game information.
