Only 0065 Prefix For Calls To Singapore From July

Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Communications is looking to standardise the procedure for making calls to Singapore in line with International practice. Currently subscribers making calls to Singapore use the Area Code 02. However since calls to Singapore should be treated as international calls, subscribers making calls should dial the International calling prefix “00” followed by Singapore country code 65 before dialing the required number.

With effect 1 July 2017 ’02’ can no longer be used, as MCMC will implement the prefix 0065 as the default code to call Singapore, and all service providers will be initiating the process in stages from May to June this year.
