Instagram is now rolling out the ability to send direct messages (DMs) on the web version of their site. For some strange reason, the feature was exclusive just for the application on mobile, but I guess that’s more. The feature has been in beta testing the desktop DMs with a select group of people, which is expected.

Now, the desktop DMs are a pretty similar experience to the normal DMs, so prepare for even more creepy dudes sliding into yo’ DMs. There’s various emojis and stickers, as well as a gallery view for photos and videos.

Though, I’m pretty sure you still can’t upload a photo from the web-version of Instagram, which kinda sucks. Considering you have more options to edit photos on your computer, it’d be easier to just post directly from the web, and maybe, we’d see less compression on Instagram photos.
