Nokia 1 Plus Coming To Malaysia For RM 329; How Are These Phones So Cheap??

HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, announces the Nokia 1 Plus, the brand-new member of its Android (Go edition) smartphone family. The Nokia 1 Plus will be on shelves at all authorised Nokia retailers in Malaysia starting 2 May 2019 at a recommended retail price of RM329. Vijay Thangavelu, Country Manager (Malaysia and Myanmar), HMD Global, said:

“The entry-level range serves the people who want a phone with basic smartphone features. We believe they are after a highly aspirational experience from a brand they know they can trust. With HMD Global’s promise on delivering the best of Android, we aim to excel for those who often feel forgotten. The Nokia 1 Plus, like its predecessor, is an Android Go device. This means that its apps are lighter in weight and use less resources to operate. Other upgrades include a bigger display, high-quality distinctive design and the beautify feature for your selfies.”

It has a polycarbonate shell which is coloured rather than painted (colour runs through so doesn’t show white when nicked or scratched), providing a unique texture. Nokia 1 Plus comes with a  5.45” IPS 18:9 full screen display and measures at about 8.55mm thinness. All this comes powered with a MediaTek quad-core CPU, which has been tuned to capture  better imaging in addition to being energy efficient. This, combined with the 8MP auto focus rear camera with LED flash and the 5MP front camera, allows fans to perfectly capture their favourite stories and share them across social media.

The Nokia 1 Plus comes in two colours, Red and Blue. They will be available from 2 May 2019 at a
recommended retail price of RM329 for the 1/8GB storage variant.
