The Nintendo Switch was already in legal trouble due to drifting issues on the joycons. Now, just a week after launch, the Nintendo Switch Lite is added to the list, just a week after launch. Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donladson-Smith has added the Lite to its class action lawsuit over controller drift. The firm pointed out that multiple reports of the analog stick input ‘drifiting’ by itself emerged days after the system arrived. This would basically mean that Nintendo hadn’t addressed the issue in the original design, and has ported it to their handheld-only design.

This is arguably worse, considering you can’t just switch out joycons on the Lite, like you could with the original Switch. The lawsuit accused Nintendo of fraud and warranty law violations, breaching implied warranties, unjust enrichment, and misrepresentation. They’re pushing for financial penalties, as well as further relief, but something to note is that Nintendo is believed to be offering free repairs already for the issue.

This really isn’t a good look for Nintendo and their newest handheld system. And honestly, it’s even making us feel like we should avoid the system. Well, at least until all this is fixed anyway. But Nintendo being Nintendo, I doubt that’s going to happen.
