Nintendo has confirmed that production of the Wii U has come to a stop globally. This was first spotted by Kotaku, who noticed that the console was being listed with the phrase “Production End (Within Japan.)”.
This measure seems very reasonable. The Nintendo Switch is close to its launch date (it’s expected in March) and the Wii U’s sales have been pretty dismal in comparison with the original Wii. But if you’ve always wanted a Wii U, it’s by no means a bad console. Plus, the stop in production will send prices heading skywards, so now’s the best time to grab one.
